Heavy Machinery Training Academy (HMT) was established in 2008 with the aim to fast track learners to the National Certificate: Industrial Mechanical Engineering (NCIMechE) qualification through intensive and focused practical hands-on training throughout the duration of the course. HMT started with the aim to upskill many students who lack formal education and who are unemployed. With a large student influx, we recognised that not all learners can access transportation to get to our premises or afford accommodation. Some learners may also have other commitments such as family and may not be able to dedicate all their time to study. Therefore, HMT decided to accept learners from all over South Africa.

The training is done at our well equipped facility in Soweto. We have 16 trainers who can help you learn this trade fast. You will learn all aspects of the trade from operating a heavy duty truck to loading it correctly and driving on its required speed and distance.
